I wanted to try using self-patterning yarn to make gloves......so far, so good. I have one done and it fits perfectly! (That's the good thing about making your own.). I had enough yarn left over to make a headband to keep my ears covered.

More Knitting Projects
Three pairs of texting gloves for my sister! My grandson, Ryder, asked for a pair of Grammy's mittens after playing with some sheep locks and hand carding them. Of course, Finn will need a pair too!
Lace shawl....accomplished!
Last year I purchased some lace weight yarn called Misty Alpaca with a Christmas gift card. I decided to try lace knitting....quite a challenge for me. I used 2mm needles and the yarn was very fine. Finally.......it is finished. I chose blue tones so I can wear it lots. You can't really see all the tiny seed beads, but they add weight and help it drape!

Back At Last!
Wow! It's been almost a year since I last made an entry. I really enjoyed writing and sharing and thought it was a great way to keep track of things going on in my life. BUT......I got away from it! Today a friend reminded me about it and I've decided to continue on.
I now have an ipad so will have to get used to publishing and adding photos! Hope it all turns out.

| so many rags, so many rugs to make |
My latest attempt at a new craft has been learning to tat. It's a very old form of hand work and seems quite simple. Now I knit and crochet so I thought this would be easy! I have an old shuttle my grandmother used, so I got it out and started. The Internet is full of wonderful videos and help.
After three evenings of ripping, sweating and general abuse of my learning skills I managed to make a very simple butterfly!
